Gem and Jewellery Festival
Each year, usually on the first full weekend of March, the North Brisbane Lapidary Club hosts a Gem and Jewellery Festival at Aviation High, Hendra. We believe one of, if not the best, gem shows in SE Qld. The Theme for the 2012 show on the 3rd and 4th March, is "The Colours and Shapes of Quartz " and displays can include pieces made from silver, gold, PMC and well as other materials.
Find us here!
Within the hall are Exhibitors selling rough gemstones, faceted stones, cabochons of gemstones and opal, jewellery, fossils, mineral specimens, lapidary tools and equipment and much more. There are also demonstrations, of faceting, by members of the Australian Faceting Guild. A list of Exhibitors and what they sell is here.

On stage are the entries to the various competitions we run in conjunction with the show. There are individual pieces as well as displays. The Gemmological Association of Australia have a stall here to promote their courses and identify gemstones.

Outside we have Tailgaters selling anything and everything that relates to lapidary.
Please don’t forget to get tickets in the Raffle which is drawn on Sunday at 2.30pm. These are available at the Front Gate, where the prizes are displayed, as well as on the stage and at the NBLC stall. All the prizes are jewellery and come with an independent valuation. The prize photo’s and descriptions are below.
Please come along and bring the family, like so many other people you’ll find yourself coming back every year.
