Overseas Cutting

If you are sending stones overseas to be cut you need to specify the following or you will get back whatever they can cut. Be very specific so that if they fail to follow your instruction you politely tell them to go jump.

  1. Shapes you want cut.
  2. They are to be calibrated sizes.
  3. The smallest and if required, largest size you want. This avoids getting back a bag of 2mm stones.
  4. Brilliant cuts.
  5. Clarity – i.e. “Eye Clean”

The exception to the calibrated cutting would be expensive stones that you want to get the most out of. I would still include 1, 3, 4 &5 though.
